LUCA PEVERONI
Luca Peveroni is a conductor, trumpeter and teacher. Originally from Pavia, Italy, he is the Director of Music of the Milton Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Canadian Navy Band of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship Star. As the Director of Music at HMCS Star, Luca has worked to update the ensemble’s philosophy, reinvigorate the repertoire and integrate the organization into the wider wind band community. Luca has also served as Resident Conductor at the Canadian Forces School of Music, working with musicians from across Canada, developing ensemble skills, introducing new repertoire and bringing wind band music to the public. Luca is also part of the conducting instruction team for the Canadian Forces School of Music, developing skills, knowledge and philosophy to prepare new conductors for service across the country. As a trumpet player, Luca is active in Southern Ontario as a soloist, freelance artist and teacher. Luca’s recent musical journeys have included conducting symposia and workshops at the Universities of Indianapolis, Oregon, California Los Angeles, Arizona State University and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK. Luca holds a Master of Music in Trumpet Literature and Performance from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Music from Wilfrid Laurier University. Luca is looking forward to September 2023 when he will move to Rochester, NY to pursue a Master’s Degree in Conducting at the Eastman School of Music. The MPO wishes Luca all the best in his studies.
