Sheena Nykolaiszyn – Librarian and Secretary

Sheena Nykolaiszyn graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Music Degree and a Bachelor of Education Degree. She studied piano with Boris Berlin, conducting under the former Toronto Symphony Orchestra conductor, Victor Feldbrill, and is presently studying flute with Leonie Wall of the TSO. Sheena retired in 2010 as the Head of Music at Etobicoke Collegiate Institute after a 31-year career with the Toronto District School Board. Her music programme was well known for its extensive travel and she took her music students on six European tours.

A resident of Milton, Sheena performs flute with the Milton Concert Band and the newly formed Milton Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a founding member of the flute ensemble, Simply Flutes, and for many years took an active leadership role in the community-music arena as a board member/special-event conductor with the Canadian Band Association. Sheena has been the Assistant Music Director of the Milton Concert Band for the past 5 years and is now stepping up as the Artistic Director and conductor of the Milton Choristers.
