Secretary of the Board, Sarah Oesch

Sarah’s childhood dream was to play the harp.  At the age of 7, she started the clarinet after asking for a flute.  She joined her first orchestra, the Halton Youth Symphony, at the age of 11 and has been playing in orchestras ever since, including the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the Western University Symphony Orchestra, the Brampton Symphony and Orchestra Toronto.  A career highlight was the two years she studied at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.  She is forever grateful to her teacher, Avrahm Galper, who spent countless hours with her on Saturday mornings and whose advice continues to stay with her.  Sarah is a founding member of the Milton Philharmonic Orchestra and is delighted to be able to make music so close to home.  Sarah has four children who cheer her on at the MPO concerts, a husband who helps manage the orchestra, and parents who have never missed a performance.  She still looks longingly at the harpist…
